Yes, I found a new use for a comb! GREAT for finding the row in both length and width (warp and weft) in loop carpet including the diagonal rows that may exist with berber carpet. Whether it is a low loop, high loop, high and low loop, berber style carpet, a simple comb can help open up the rows for cutting between the rows and not cut the face yarns when sectioning and seaming.
It is important that the small teeth lead when using and you do not use a sawing-action when using. Move in one direction only.
