This extremely versatile cutter excels on zipzag (“hydra-shift”) carpets including commercial loop pile and berbers. This cutter uses both slotted razor blades as well as utility blades. The blades run directly behind the center row guide which keeps the blade away from the offset yarns, preventing yarns from being sheared, which causes unsightly seams. The wide base keeps the blade perpendicular to the yarns, further reducing nap shear. The row guide can be fully retracted into the base for top cutting of carpet. This versatile tool can also be used as a trimmer to precisely trim carpet up to Z-bar or vinyl transition moldings.
